larger particle colloidal silica |
| BINDZIL®
2040NH4 is an ammonia-stabilized larger particle
colloidal silica with very low sodium designed for high temperature,
premium product applications where sodium alkali is detrimental. It is
especially suited for saturation bonding and rigidizing (post
impregnation) of specialty vacuum-formed fibrous refractories. BINDZIL®
2040NH4 is a 40% concentration silica sol of 20
nanometer diameter amorphous spheres. |

BINDZIL® 2040 NH4 offers these advantages
|
|
|
| Better
High Temperature Properties - |
Ammonia stabilized
particles give stable bonds at high temperatures producing less shrinkage
and less cristobalite at temperatures up to 2300oF. |
| Best
Product for Rigidizing - |
Larger particles
soak in further and giver stronger, harder rigidized products;
significantly reduced sodium results in less shrinkage at end-use
temperatures. |
| Stronger
Bonding and Hardness - |
Larger particle
size yields higher green strengths (i.e., modulus of rupture) and harder
refractory fiber shapes. |
| Saves
Money - |
Balanced silica to
starch floccing ratio is more economical giving high strength with less
colloidal silica in formulation. |
| Flocs
with Cationic Starch - |
Negative surface
charge flocs cationic starch refractory fibers together to form a three
dimensional floc for good product strength. |
