Engineer/Entrepreneur

Wesbond Corporation is the premier source for materials and expertise in the vacuum-forming industry. We work with our vendors to supply the industry with cationic starch, colloidal silica, and process additives. We also manufacture our own proprietary dry binders for vacuum forming. Our customers form refractory ceramic fibers into shapes such as indulation boards, pouring cups, tapping comes, and fireplace logs. We also have customers in the investment-casting industry who use our products in the shell room.
The Opportunity
As an Engineer you will learn our industry, work with customers to solve problems, develop new products and processes. As an Enterpreneur you will run a small business. This role is at the intersection of technology and business operations, requiring a unique blend of technical expertise and business acumen.
In this role you will work closely with the plant manager to produce and ship our products. You will work with our customers to solve their problems and teach them how to refine their operations.You will work with the production staff to ensure the quality of all our products and improve our manufacturing processes. You will work with our accountant to fulfill our tax and licensing obligations. You will work with the office manager to ensure timely payments to our vendors and from out customers. You will work in the QC lab to test our products, and the R&D lab to develop new ones.
Wesbond Corporation is a small company and you will be required to fill in for other employees when they are out. You might drive a forktruck, lift 50-pound bags, and move drums. You will work in the lab testing materials and developing new products.
This position does not allow for remote work. Travel to customer locations is required.

Required Qualifications
Degree in Ceramic Engineering or Material Science, or Chemical Engineering with experience in Ceramic Processing
5+ years of process engineering experience in the ceramics industry
Familiarity with business and accounting principles
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Desired Qualifications
Experience with ceramic fiber vacuum-forming operations.
Experience with the shell room of an investment casting company.
Website development skills/experience.
CRM implementation/usage.
Bilingual in English/Spanish.
Can use tools to repair wiring, plumbing, small motors.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
Periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer (5+ hours).
Periods of walking or standing in the plant or lab (2+ hours).
Must be able to move quickly through the building (walk fast to run).
Must be able to seize, hold, grasp, turn or otherwise work with your hand or hands.
Must be able to hear equipment and machinery running in the plant area to remain safe in this environment.
Work will be performed in an office/plant environment with fluctuating temperatures.
Some travel is required.
